Due to an unexpected boiler breakdown, there is currently no heating in the school building. For health and safety reasons, the school will be closed today, Monday 5th January, and tomorrow, Tuesday 6th January 2026. We are working urgently to resolve the issue and we will provide updates as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Mrs. McCormack, Headteacher.

Safeguarding Statement

Driven by our Christian values we pride ourselves at St. Joseph’s in providing high standards of pastoral support to safeguard the welfare and wellbeing of all our pupils. In the same spirit, together with the Jesuits in Britain, St. Joseph’s, as a Jesuit school, is also here to assist/support any former pupils who might feel affected by any previously unreported experience(s) whilst at St. Joseph’s. They and/or their concerned family or friends are also more than welcome to speak in confidence with the headteacher, our school Safeguarding lead, who will listen with empathy to any concerns and assist them to access appropriate support if this would be of benefit to the former pupil in question. Her contact details are: head@st-josephs-hurstgreen.lancs.sch.uk or 01254 826246. Alternatively, if preferred, Julie Ashby-Ellis, Safeguarding Coordinator for the Jesuits in Britain, can also be contacted directly and in confidence for such assistance and her contact details are safeguarding@jesuit.org.uk or 07715 669128.
