Odd socks day 2022

With Friendship Friday being the same day as Children in Need, we combined the two and had an assortment of colourful socks on show and many donations made to Children in Need’s charity.
The day began with an assembly led by the reception children as part of anti-bullying week. They spoke clearly and confidently, leading us in prayer, reading scripture and talking about how we can be good friends to others. After reading the story of Elmer and learning that it’s OK to be different, the children then illustrated their own differences and showed that everyone is different, yet everyone is special and there is nothing to stop us loving one another as friends.
Key stage 1 children focussed on the story of the Rainbow Fish and created their own fish to illustrate the same message.
