Maths in EYFS
In the foundation stage, we provide a great deal of practical activities to help the children develop a solid understanding of numbers to enable them to have the skills and confidence to apply their number knowledge when solving maths problems as they progress through the school. Children are taught to estimate and subitise how many objects are in a set. A range of natural items, classroom equipment and movements are used to help children practise counting accurately using one-to-one correspondence.
