To grow daily in God's love, blossoming in His will
We've had the perfect weather recently to increase our awareness of freezing and melting. However, our mini scientists took part in their investigations indoors, with the reception children working in groups to find the fastest ways of freeing their animal from a frozen "iceberg"! Meanwhile the nursery children were busy melting lard to make bird feeders for our outdoor area and observing the colours that were produced as our ice blocks melted.
Aubrey was chosen as the scientist of the day for his thoughtful range of suggestions about where the ice could be put to free the animal quickly. However, it was Tom who discovered that the warm water was the most effective way of melting the ice quickly.
The only disappointment of the day, was that none of the ice cubes I'd asked each child to look after for the afternoon so I could take them back home made it back in one solid piece!
