St Joseph's Roman CatholicPrimary School
To grow daily in God's love, blossoming in His will
Our school turned red, white and blue today to celebrate the 80th anniversary of victory in Europe. The children reflected on what it must have been like to pack a bag and move to the countryside and live with strangers just as the evacuees had done and tried to imagine how fabulous it must have felt to hear the news from Winston Churchill that the war in Europe was over.
2 minutes silence was held before the children tucked into a tasty VE Day packed lunch outdoors just like the street parties of 80 years ago.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
