measuring in maths
Last week in maths, we have been learning to use the correct mathematical language for measures- long, short, wide, narrow, tall, heavy, light, full and empty. The children have loved learning through a variety of practical activities indoors and out. We found out who were the longest and shortest children when lying down, and tallest and shortest when standing up. We made wide and narrow shapes in PE, found a variety of long and short objects, used balance scales to see which objects were heavier or lighter and on the coldest day of the week, we explored which containers had more water in!
