Let's Get Map Making
Draw a map of your home/garden. If you have multiple floors, you will need a map for each floor of your house.
Take a tour of your house so you know where everything is and make it as accurate as possible.
Don't forget to add a key for your map.
CHALLENGE: turn your map into an orienteering map. Mark on where you will hide a symbol/letter/treasure. Make sure whatever you hide is very obviously an 'orienteering point'. Find someone in your house to test oout your map-making skills.
Creative Extension
Make your own make-believe town sketch map. You can imagine your town to be however you would like. The video below is from an author who demonstrates how you could create your own map. All you need is pen and paper.
