A group of volunteers, some as young as nine, braved the cold weather to help raise funds for Nightsafe’s Youth Homelessness Projects.

The charity hosted a sleep-out at Saint Silas Parish Church grounds in Blackburn on Friday night to highlight the plight of homeless young people.

More than 40 people, including volunteers and people from local businesses, took part and helped to raise thousands for the charity.

Among them was Ram Gupta who was joined by his son Rohan, 10 and his friends Ansh, also 10 and nine-year-old Anay
