To help us further understand this issue, we invited Brother John from the organisation T.H.O.M.A.S. (Blackburn) to talk about the subject.
Brother John talked about some of the issues homeless people face, some of the problems they encounter and the work this organisation does to help these people.
To support this organisation, St Michael's House has decided to hold a fund raising event on the 2nd December
On this date we hope to sell new or nearly new books, cakes and biscuits and shopping bags made from newspaper.
We would be very grateful if all parents could please donate a new or nearly new book to be sold at our book sale on the evening of this event.
We will leave a table out in the hall to collect books that have been kindly donated.
Furthermore, could parents of children from St Michael's house please bake a cake for the 2nd of December, so that we could sell these to raise money for our chosen charity.
Meanwhile, children from St Michael's house will make shopping bags from newspaper which they will hopefully also be able to sell on the evening of our fund raising event.
Thank you in anticipation of your support and see you after school on the 2nd of December.
