Lots of St Joseph's families attended the Remembrance day service at the cenotaph in Hurst Green today, despite the pouring rain. Alice presented the wreath and Florence lit the candle to mark the 100 year anniversary of the end of the first world war. Well done to all the children from nursery to year 6 on wonderful, respectful behaviour, you should be very proud.
The children in the foundation stage class have been busy making poppies as they learn about remembrance day, some of these poppies are now on display in the village. Children in key stage 1 have also been creating poppy pictures, writing remembrance day prayers and "letters home", trying to empathise what it must have been like to be a soldier in the first world war.
