We waved off our year 3 and 4 children as they set off on their pilgrimage, walking the Tolkien way with their picnics and water bottles packed ready.
The EYFS and key stage 1 children then started their day in our beautiful chapel, this is the first time some children have had chance to visit our chapel for over a year. We heard the story of Jacob's son Joseph and his coat of many colours. The children were quietly reflecting on the story and the significance of the dreams and the trust which Joseph had placed in God, when in walked a life size Joseph of our very own! Mrs Geldard, Mrs Atkinson and Mrs Massey weren't the only ones enjoying the wonderful music from the story, Mrs Orr was like a magnet drawn to the songs from her favourite bible story and came to join us for a while! We then returned to our own bubbles and enjoyed a variety of fun activities. All children have been busy designing their own colourful coats, the reception and nursery children felt like they were in their own class sized colourful coat as they played parachute games and made colourful friendship bracelets. With half the children on their adventures it was the perfect opportunity for picnics and fun on the field at lunch time before returning to class to complete the day's activities. With 11 year 2 children, we are looking forward to seeing their creations of Joseph's 11 brothers.
