Our older children from the Foundation stage class joined the Key stage1 class for a trip to Bolton Abbey. After learning about different types of transport throughout the term, it was a treat to be able to travel by coach to Embsay station, passing canal boats on the way. The steam train was waiting at the station, and our reserved carriages were just like ones from Harry Potter! After a fun journey to Bolton Abbey station, we enjoyed an ice cream while watching the train leave the platform- it was very smelly! The ice creams gave us just about enough energy for a long walk to a picnic area close to Bolton Abbey priory. The sun shone throughout the day, and we had time to play in the field before our coach journey back home. Thank you to our team of helpers, and a special thank you to the children, whose super behaviour meant we were all able to enjoy the day.
