After much discussion, St Michael's House has chosen to focus on homelessness this term.
To help us further understand this issue, we invited Brother John from the organisation T.H.O.M.A.S. (Blackburn) to talk about the subject.
Brother John talked about some of the issues homeless people face, some of the problems they encounter and the work this organisation does to help these people.
To support this organisation, St Michael's House has decided to hold a fund raising event on the 2nd December
On this date we hope to sell new or nearly new books, cakes and biscuits and shopping bags made from newspaper.
We would be very grateful if all parents could please donate a new or nearly new book to be sold at our book sale on the evening of this event.
We will leave a table out in the hall to collect books that have been kindly donated.
Furthermore, could parents of children from St Michael's house please bake a cake for the 2nd of December, so that we could sell these to raise money for our chosen charity.
Meanwhile, children from St Michael's house will make shopping bags from newspaper which they will hopefully also be able to sell on the evening of our fund raising event.
Thank you in anticipation of your support and see you after school on the 2nd of December.
Our cross-country team took part in the North West cross-country competition at Stonyhurst.
The tough course took them around the hilly and muddy golf course.
In the girls race there were over 80 runners. Josephine had a fantastic run and was 20th. Bella finished in 32nd place followed by Grace C in 40th, Alice 45th, Therese 50th and Maddy 68th.
In the boys race there were 185 competitors. Michael T was an amazing 26th, Benedict 44th, Lucas W 63rd, Sebastian 65th, Jacob 72nd and Max 92nd.
Great efforts by all runners.
