Year 1 and 2 children have been working on their art techniques in using line, shape, pattern and colour. They have used pencils, pastels and paints to create and develop leaf pictures. We have looked at some of the Pop art produced by Andy Warhol, and created our own leaf pictures in that style. These can be seen displayed in the school hall.

Our Foundation class joined the infants for an Autumn trip to the forest. After being reminded by Mrs Bailey about keeping safe in the forest, the infants started their own activity while we heard a story on the I-pad about a hedgehog who needed a home. Working in pairs, the reception and pre-school children then set about making a home for their hedgehog using leaves and twigs. Once the hedgehogs were cosy in their homes we "slept through the Winter" in our own cosy home! The task was then to find the hedgehogs again, as we searched we also found a few other living creatures! Once the hedgehogs were found safe and well after their "winter hibernation", we went for a run around to warm ourselves up before snack time. After a snack and Bear Hunt rhyme with years 1 and 2, we had just enough time to collect Autumn leaves before lunch. It was an exciting but exhausting and chilly morning in the forest, we hope to return again when it's warmer!
