As always, the children suggested ideas for new role-play areas inside and outside the classroom, and voted to have a train station with small cafe area inside, and a police station with a jail outside. We are still busy making "wanted" posters, travel brochures and train timetables for these areas, with children keen to write captions, labels and numbers for a real purpose. Every child has contributed to our transport display, and the reception children have written their own stories about exciting journeys.
The dry weather we have had recently has allowed us extended opportunities for high quality outdoor learning. The children have been developing mark making skills, mathematical problem solving skills and have been working together to extend their ideas for imaginative and creative play. We look forward to many more dry days next half term to extend this learning further as we welcome new children into our school over the next few weeks.
