I hope all the children are enjoying a well deserved rest ready for the next half term.
It has been a long and busy first half term in school, and our younger children in particular are ready for a break. The focus for the past half term has been animals, the children have learned about many features of animals from around the world and close to home. Our Autumn display was created by using sticks to drag the paint over the paper to make owls and hedgehogs, which we learned are nocturnal animals. Mrs Ward came to tell the children about her job as a vet, and she brought Thomas's African snail to show us. This helped to inspire the children to make our own vets role-play area. In maths we have been exploring shape, pattern and measures through a wide range of practical activities. Outdoors, the children requested a builders yard and had lots of ideas about what we'd need to make one, this is proving to be a very popular learning area. I hope all the children are enjoying a well deserved rest ready for the next half term.
